Passages
Each work in Passages develops through a repeated visual vocabulary that remains intentionally open.
The central field may be experienced as a boundary, an opportunity, a transition or simply a moment within one’s own experience, reflecting how the same life event can be perceived differently by each individual.
Created through layered acrylics and mixed media, repeated forms evolve through subtle shifts in texture, colour and rhythm, transforming a familiar visual structure into a unique experience. Rather than representing fixed meanings, the paintings invite viewers to bring their own experiences and interpretations to the work.
As with my wider practice, the materials establish a visual vocabulary that initiates a dialogue without prescribing its outcome. The works remain open to interpretation, allowing each encounter to reveal different perspectives and keeping the dialogue between artwork and viewer alive.
